Satan tried to stir it up in my home last night. Tried to attack my family. BUT, he didn’t get the foothold he needed. He was defeated, and a warrior was reawakened within me this morning. This attempted attack was meant for evil, but God used it for good. I’ve been in battle prayer mode ever since. Satan messed with the wrong girl.

My fervent prayer time that began at my bathroom vanity (this is my “War Room”, for those of you who have seen the movie by the same name), carried into my commute to work, then also into our staff prayer time at the church preschool where I work. I was still in spiritual battle mode and I was praying up everyone around me, my workplace, my co-workers, etc.

Satan tries to make us think that in the grand scheme of things, that we are not worth his time.
Why would Satan attack me?
Why would Satan try to stir things up in my home?
I’m not worth the battle.

Oh, yes you are.
This line of questioning is right where he wants to keep you. He wants you to fight the wrong enemy…your spouse, your children, your co-workers, the person behind the business counter, the fellow drivers sharing the road with you, etc. He doesn’t want you to see the real battle lines, for when you do, you will see that Christ has already fought the battle and won it—you just have to claim the victory.

If you are thinking about God…you’re worth the battle.
If you have given your life to Christ, and have made the decision to follow Him…you’re worth the battle.
If you have a Bible in your home…you’re worth the battle.
If you have a desire to know more about God…you’re worth the battle.
If you are still reading this blog post…you’re worth the battle.

Spiritual battles are not reserved for the “super religious”, the speakers who fill arenas by the thousands, the best-selling Christian authors. Oh no. It would not be a good battle plan if Satan saved his darts for only these types of folks. He wants me. He wants you. He wants us to feel so defeated, so deflated, that we cannot even think about praying, reading our Bibles, telling others about Jesus. He wants to keep us distracted, disoriented, fighting the wrong people.

You’re worth the battle.

Get yourself prayed up, battle ready. Don’t wait for the battle to rev up around you, put on the armor of God now, put on “God goggles” and see yourself as God sees you, for if you do, you will see a warrior that will make Satan tremble.

As Clara (from the movie, War Room) says, “Raise them up, Lord! Raise them up!” (Click below to see the video clip.)

Miss Clara’s Prayer in “War Room”.

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.”
Ephesians 6:11-13

Here are a few pictures from my bathroom vanity “War Room”.  The family prayer spiral was a Christmas gift, that I am loving.  If you are interested in ordering one, I can get you in touch with the local mom who wrote it, so you can get your own copy.  I know it is weird to have a prayer “war room” incorporated into a bathroom vanity, but when you’re a busy mom, sometimes the bathroom is the quietest place in the house!

This daily family prayer journal and the “Pray for your Pastor” printout are incorporated into each day’s prayer time.

I’m reading Priscilla Shirer’s book, “Fervent”, these are the tear-out cards in the back of the book, where she will help walk you through how to write out specific prayers.  I also have prayer request from friends here & verses that friends shared with me.

A close-up of todays prayer page. I love this day-by-day prayer journal.  It’s hard to see, but there is a section for “Hubby”, for “Self”, and for “Kiddos”.
